Office Visits

Office Visits Orthodontics today is constantly changing, and new technologies and treatment methods abound. Here at our office we are committed to keeping up with the latest treatment techniques and providing our patients with the best orthodontic experience possible.

Your First Visit
At the first visit to Dr. Epstein, diagnostic records are made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Consultation
After the doctor has evaluated your records, he will discuss your treatment with you in detail. Dr. Epstein will personally sit down with you and explain the need for orthodontic treatment, as well as, the various treatment alternatives and go over in detail how the recommended treatment will solve the orthodontic problem. The cost for your particular case will be outlined, as well as, discussing the many payment options available.

Regular Appointments
The appointment when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes an hour. You'll then see us at regular intervals 4 to 6 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 15 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday, Thursday and Friday from 8:45 AM to 5:30 PM, Tuesday from 8:45 AM to 6:30 PM and Saturday from 8:45 to 1:00 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 4 to 6 weeks in advance.

Payment & Office Policies

Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets. We also accept assignment from most insurance plans, and file the necessary papers to the insurance company. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable. In addition, Dr. Epstein is a provider in many insurance plans which enables you to take advantage of the provider fee and save a substantial amount off from the usual and customary fee. We are happy to work out a payment arrangement with you to fit your particular needs.

Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a 5% fee discount.
  • To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by AMEX, VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER AND CARE CREDIT.
Insurance
We are dedicated to helping our patients navigate the maze that is orthodontic /dental insurance. We help file insurance claims, research to find out exactly what your insurance coverage for orthodontics is and help you obtain maximum insurance benefits. If you have insurance, we will help you to determine the coverage you have available. We ask that you assign your insurance benefit to us. The balance will be arranged for you to pay. Professional care is provided to you, our patient, and not to an insurance company. Thus, the insurance company is responsible to the patient and the patient is responsible to the doctor. We will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf. We are approved providers of many insurance plans and if you are insured by one of those plans you will receive more benefits than if you were treated by a non-provider. The advantage of going to a provider orthodontist is that the customary and usual fee is reduced to the provider fee and the patient saves a substantial amount of money. The following is a partial list of insurance plans that we are a provider for: Affordable Family Health, Aetna, Apple Discount Dental, Avia, BC/BS, Carington, Cigna, Connection Dental, DeCare, Delta, Dental Network of America, Dental Direct, Dentemax, Dental Benefits Provider, DHA, Dental Select, Dental Wellness Partners, Eastern Dental, Emblem Health, Empire Healthchoice, First Ameritas, GE Wellness, GHI, Guardian, Health Allies, Humana, Liberty, MDLI, Metlife, Northeast-Southeast Dental Plan, Oxford, Northwest Airlines, Principle, Qualident, Signature, Uni-Care, United Concordia and Well-Point.
